Each plane features an adjustable mouth , a 1/8 thick A2 steel blade, a one-piece precision ground frog and base casting, and a limited lifetime warranty. Generally referred to as a smoothing plane, Stanleys No.4 is 2-1/2 wide x 10 long with a 2 wide blade and at nearly 5 lbs. is the perfect size for that final surface smoothing prior to applying the finish.
